We said goodbye today, for we are both headed home. We’ve made promises that we will call each other when we get home and I will investigate the possibility of opening a practice in Portland Maine, which is near Crabapple Cove. Maybe it’s perverse, but I want to be able to tell people what Hawkeye and I are to each other without fearing that we’ll be shunned or worse.

Maybe it’s perverse, but I want to meet Hawkeye under a Chuppah one day to make a life time commitment to him.

Maybe it’s perverse, but I want what BJ and Peggy could have, if they wanted it. The right to adopt a child with Hawkeye, should that be what he wants.

Maybe it’s perverse, but I want for Hawkeye and I to have the same freedoms, the same responsibilities, and the same right as any other couple in love.

Maybe it’s perverse that I want all of these things, but I can’t help it for all these things are important to me and are what everyone else takes for granted.

Or maybe it is the fact everyone else takes that for granted which is perverse.

A Lovely Climax
Charles/Maxwell

They had had to hide what they were to each other for more years than they cared to recall. Only Honoria and Max's uncle Abdul knowing of their true relationship the first few years. Being disowned by their fathers', Charles' losing his position at Boston General and having to settle for being a general practitioner. Max being able to find work as a costume designer for plays, but his other business ventures never getting off the ground.

Both only attaining their dreams recently, Charles finally offered a position at Boston General but choosing to become a conductor for the Boston Philharmonic. Max operating a successful Internet business. All of their friends and family there for them as Charles and Max stood side by side on May 17, 2004 and married in Boston's city hall. Finally getting that piece of paper they had wanted for over 50 years. Their union blessed by a frail ex-priest and accepted by all they loved.

Sidney Freedman/Father Mulcahy, very loosely implied. Yes, I know I'm strange. After having just watched War of Words
