Please pray for my friend [livejournal.com profile] scarlatti, if that behaviour is consistent with your tradition.

People who've been in this community for longer than a couple of years will recognise her name -- she's written some excellent Mulcahy stories, most of which are archived on her website "A Priest in Korea", http://iolanthe.netfirms.com/

I'm writing this now because she's very ill. Yesterday she was transferred into a hospice, and her family have started to gather.
We're not expecting her to live very much longer. I've already started preparing parts of her funeral service.

If you have a mechanism for channelling good thoughts that's consistent with your tradition, her family and her friends could use some good thoughts at the moment. In my tradition that's prayer, and I'm figuratively kneeling alongside Mulcahy and the gang tonight.

There's a more comprehensive description of the situation on my LiveJournal: http://dougs.livejournal.com/tag/scarlatti
