Hi everyone :) I'm semi-new to the community. I've been lurking as anonymous for a little bit, than I remembered I had an lj account ><;

Anyway, the reason for the post: Does anyone know when exactly Hawkeye started to call BJ 'Beej'? I tracked it down to the end of the 4th season - The Novocaine Mutiny. Just suddenly at the end there's a "Way to go Beej!". Unfortunately, my brother has taken my season 4 into the depths of his room and I'm not even going to try and find it. So I ask if anyone here has ever had this weird obsession with finding out a why to BJ's nickname. And if no one can find anything, how about a fic or two to explain? [insert puppy eyes here]

A really good question. I have a friend called Katja who I randomly started calling 'Kaj' at some point many years ago, and I can't remember exactly when. I do sort of know why, and it could be similar to the Beej mystery. There are two syllables in each name (BJ and Katja). Each starts with a consonant, and the first letter of the second syllable is a 'j' sound. So just stick with those dominant sounds and scrap the rest = instant convenient nickname. I also eliminated a t, which makes me lazier than Hawkeye o_O

I hope some of that made sense to you, because it doesn't to me ^_^

Incidentally, the Novocaine Mutiny contains the best slashy B/H lines ever, which go something like
H: He doesn't just want my (something?) he wants my virginity too!
BJ: We all do.
H: If only I'd known!

Anyway, Leo Bardonaro calls BJ "Beej" too. Unfortunately, it's not just Hawkeye.
