Your mom sounds like those people who are like, "Being gay is okay, just as long as no one in my family is." As if that somehow makes it their "fault". Man, that is lame.

Dude, if that is a soapbox to you, you seeeeeeeeeeeeriously don't want to see MY gay rights soapbox. I believe I have this long, detailed rant about it in my memories. (Which, you know, thinking about it, I should update, because I have something to add to that rant.) It's crazy.
