anyone good at math?

I'm trying to put M*A*S*H 4077th on the map. According to several episodes it is 34 miles from Seoul, 259 miles from Tokyo.

Seoul is 37' 30" N 127' 00" E (degrees' minutes")

Tokyo is 35' 40" N 139' 45" E

Given the above information, can anyone put a dot on the map as to where M*A*S*H theoretically was? *wishes she remembered how to calculate this, having done similar calculations in Air Cadets*

i think in the episode 'Hawkeye' hawk says the 4077th is in Uijongbu(sp?), which in this

map is a bit north of Seoul. but i'm terrible at geography so I hope someone else can do better. I'm curious myself.

I don't have a map, but shouldn't that result with two possible places? The two intersections of the two circles (radius 34 miles, centered at Seoul, radius 259 miles, centered at Tokyo). Sadly, I'm balls at cartography.

My dad adds that, since they didn't historically bug out much, they were probably below the 38th parallel.

From a purely mathematical point of view, yep. In this case, though, it should be possible to pick one based on what was going on where. A bit like quadratic formulae which give you two results for time and one of them obviously isn't right because it's negative.
