Hola boys and girls! I'm Sara, and relatively new to this community. Well, I joined a little bit ago, but I haven't posted anything 'til now, although you've probably seen my random comments pop up occasionally. ^_^
Anyway... I have a few ficlets. They're annoyingly short, but I'm new to this fandom.
The first ever fic I wrote for M*A*S*H...
Title: Sacrifices
Author: You're lookin' at her!
Rating: PG
Summary: They hurt, but sacrifices are necessary when you're a priest.
Pairing: Hawkeye/Mulcahy, but it's all implied.
Disclaimer: I obviously don't own this since the show started and ended before I was even born.
Father Mulcahy loved being a priest. He loved helping others, listening to others, representing Jesus and God, everything.
Well, almost everything.
Priests had vows. One of which required them to remain celibate.
Physical attraction was easy to control. Love, not so much.
It hurt sometimes, to love someone and not being able to tell that person, to act on it, to give into temptation and just be two people in love.
It hurt nearly all the time, to know that the person he loved could very easily love him as well.
It hurt always, to sit back and watch that person go after everyone they could have so as to forget about the one they couldn't.
It hurt them both.
But it was the way it had to be.
Because Father John Patrick Francis Mulcahy loved bing a priest, and priests had to make sacrifices.
He was willing to make them.
Even if one of those sacrifices happened to be the person he loved.
Even if one of those sacrifices happened to hurt the person he loved.
Even if one of those sacrifices happened to hurt himself.
-End
And my next fic...
Title: Knowledge
Author: Moi
Rating: PG
Summary: Everyone knows; nobody knows.
Pairing: Hawkeye/BJ
A/N: This was originally for
hawkeyesmartini, who answered my random “guess the song lyric” challenge.
Disclaimer: M*A*S*H isn't mine and it never was. If it had been, there would've been a lot more making out.
Everyone knows about them, but nobody really knows about them.
Margaret struggles with it, unsure if she should be glad someone is happy in this hell-hole or upset and remembering that one of them has a wife.
Charles doesn’t really care, it’s none of his business, and he’s as disinterested in it as he is everything; except, maybe, occasionally, he has some very un-Winchester like flashes of something, some strange emotion he’s definitely not used to and doesn’t want to be used to, ever. He dismisses it as heartburn or something else relating to the horrid status of the poor excuse for “food” they’re fed, but deep down he knows what it is, even if he won’t admit it. Winchesters don’t get jealous, after all.
Klinger really has no place to judge - he’s the one usually found in jewelry and woman’s clothing, after all. He supposes everyone needs someone, even if it’s unconventional, and war is definitely unconventional.
Father Mulcahy is a generous soul; he can’t condemn happiness, especially when it seems so very special and rare. It isn’t harming anyone and he feels that God would understand - those two need to take solace in someone or they might lose it - and continues to pray for them, and everyone, nightly.
Colonel Potter never quite understood how or why, but he admits to himself that it doesn’t seem particularly surprising, the way they’ve always been stuck to the hip. He shrugs and figures if it keeps both of his best cutters sane enough to continue saving lives and staying alive themselves, he doesn’t mind, and doesn’t think anyone should.
Hawkeye and BJ know everyone knows, and yet, they don’t, because no one really does, since no one is supposed to. If they did, they would be up in arms, offended, disgusted, keeping them apart, or getting them out of “this man’s” army, but they don’t know, not really, not for sure - it’s only speculation, after all.
But it’s there, unofficially, and the message is clear in everyone’s eyes occasionally, when they’re sitting particularly close, have just embraced like they do so often, or even after they’ve had one of their very few but rather intense fights.
They simply want them to be happy.
-End
And, then, this is the last one...
Title: Necessary
Author:
sarcasticsra
Rating: PG
Summary: It’s there; it’s unexplainable; it’s necessary.
Pairing: Charles/Klinger - uh, don’t ask what I’m smoking, I’m sober, really.
Disclaimer: Not mine, never was mine, never will be mine. This is just for fun.
It can’t be explained.
They both love it and they both hate it at the same time - it helps and yet it hurts, keeping them sane but also driving them into insanity.
Why do they do it? Neither of them are sure - it’s true that Charles has been prone to binge drinking and doing things he normally wouldn’t and Klinger usually jumps into things for the hell of it.
But neither of those reasons work; they’re both too sober, and it’s become a weekly occurrence, so it couldn’t be impulse. Maybe if it had only happened once, just the one night after they’d both been rejected and drank far too much, then they could have shrugged it off as nothing.
However, regularly, they meet, for as long as they can, not knowing why they need it so much. Maybe it’s the feeling of having and wanting and needing someone and getting those feelings returned; maybe they’ve both lost their minds.
Whatever it is, it keeps them coming, usually to the supply tent at night, where they share gasps, moans, and breathy calls for more.
It can’t be explained, but nevertheless, it’s still there, and they’re not going to fight it. Not when it’s so painfully necessary.
-End
I hope you enjoy! ^_^

:O
he feels that God would understand - those two need to take solace in someone or they might lose it - and continues to pray for them
YES YES. That's how I think Father Mulcahy would be, too. He seems like the type to pray for someone in spite of a sin. So I like the way you've characterized him in a few little words and kept him true to his character; out of all the characters, I hate outlandish!Mulcahy more than anything. So way to be. I also really really like Colonel Potter's admission that "it doesn't seem to surprising."
ALSO YOU WROTE KLINGLES WTF YOU ARE AMAAAAAAAZING. (I've been trying to write some for approximately eternity and it's not even close to being done.)
Whatever it is, it keeps them coming, usually to the supply tent at night, where they share gasps, moans, and breathy calls for more.
Color me amazed!
(Also, re: annoyingly short. I actually like short fics better than I like long fics. I don't know why, but I can never get into multi-chapter epics. So I give you a SLAP ON THE BACK and a THUMBS UP and a WRITE MORE, because seriously you can never get enough M*A*S*H slash.)
(My comments are always annoyingly long.)

Date: 2005-05-01 09:32 pm (UTC)Yeah, heh, I wrote Charles/Klinger. I'm glad you liked it; I was afraid people would think I was weird. ^_^
And I love long, in depth comments, so don't worry about them being long! Being so very new to this fandom, I'll take all the feedback I can get. XD

Date: 2005-05-01 09:53 pm (UTC)I think I'm going to friend you, because WTF WHOSE LINE SLASH? YOU ASTOUND ME and the only thing I know about you is that you like Whose Line slash and you write Charles/Klinger. THIS IS ENOUGH.

Date: 2005-05-01 10:02 pm (UTC)I definitely agree about Mulcahy. It's impossible for a Mulcahy slash fic to end happily, but that's sort of why I love it. While I'm a sap at heart who loves happy endings, I'm also a sucker for some nice angst. ^_^

Date: 2005-05-01 09:59 pm (UTC)I usually despise drabbles, but my god I loved these. Especially the last two; and especially especially the middle one. I'm just a sucker for the B-Eye, what can I say?
The only thing I don't like is the lack of dialogue; I'm such a whore for good dialogue and I have a feeling you could do something nifty if you put your mind to it.
Re: OMGOTPWTFBBQSAUCE11!14077!
Date: 2005-05-01 10:06 pm (UTC)Wow, thank you, then! Although these are techinically ficlets, because all three of them are over 100 words, so they're not drabbles. The third one is 200 words or so, actually, so I guess that one could be considered a double-drabble. ^_^
Yes, I do like dialogue as well, but when I write ficlets I don't normally have much dialogue. Maybe when I write a longer fic, I can get some more dialogue in there. ^_^
