mash_slash | Recommendations Week?

Hello everyone! I'm fairly new to this comm but not the show. I've been lurking for a while and I've read a lot of the fics. I have an idea that I think would be a great way for me to contribute since I don't have a lot of skill in writing myself. I've borrowed it from an LJ friend who had great success with it in the Band of Brothers slash forum (who also borrowed it from someone else, who I'm sure borrowed it from someone else again. It's not important, really). Anyways, the idea is a "Recommendations Week". Basically, every day for seven days I would post a category/topic/theme, etc and in the comments, members would post recommended fics of said topic. This would be a great way to dig up old, forgotten fics, and would be a great link to direct anyone to who is looking for a good selection of fics. They don't all have to be from this comm, either. If anyone knows of anything tucked away in other journals or comms they can be posted too.

So what does everyone think? Would it be reasonable and suitable for me to organise this for next week? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

(The topics I was thinking on using are as follows, feel free to suggest anything else: Sunday= happy, Monday= sad, Tuesday= hot, Wednesday= funny, Thursday= intelligent, Friday= unusual, Saturday= everything else.)

That sounds like a lot of fun! I must admit, I've been mostly on the outskirts of the fandom for several years (though, I've recently come back, even if not as full-time as I used to be), so I'd love to see some recs of stuff I might not have read. And I might (though I kind of doubt it) have some recs that most people here haven't read. So it's all good! Looking forward to Recs Week now. :-)

I've been lurking here for a while, too, and I only recently joined. I'm originally from the Band of Brothers comms.

Nice to meet you. I started my (now ~~legendary~~ infamous) fannish exploits in M*A*S*H fandom in 2001, slowly grew away from it as I got into other fandoms, and then came back on a pretty peripheral basis about a year-and-a-half ago (thanks, oddly enough, to yet another fandom). I'm slowly trying to get back into the fandom, but some of my other fandoms are still calling my name, so...we'll see what happens, I guess. :-)

My M*A*S*H fangirling is beginning to surpass my Band of Brothers fandom... Which is really saying a lot! The BoB comms are a bit dead right now, so I'm focusing my efforts here for a while.
