Hi, I've been thinking about what slash and het writers thought what happened after the war and I might be generalising here but het writers seems to have Hawkeye(or someone else)marrying Margaret or an original character(Mary-Sue)and he has no issues or has been affected by his breakdowns. In fact, he seems to be fine.
But in Slash, Hawkeye or any other character seems to be much more affected and I've seen many fanfics where he has commited suicide.
So, why is that? Is it because you'd be hit probably much harder if your lover left without saying goodbye? Or is it because slash writers(TakenHawkeye and HawkeyesMartini)have so much more insight to the characters?
I'd be really pleased if I can get your point of views on this and again, I apoligise profusely if I have got it wrong, generalised or caused offence to Twilight_Mash
