This was a community waiting to happen.
Since the Community info page pretty much says it all about this community, I'll make a personal introduction instead: my name is Jessica, and I'm comparitively new to the show, clocking in at about a month and a half of fandom. Thanks to the wonders of syndication, I've already gotten to see a number of fabulous episodes and fall deeply in love with the show, and thanks to the wonders of the Internet, I've fallen in love with the fan culture... and all things thereof.
Slash being one of them.
I was only 7 months old when the show stopped production in February of '83, so I didn't get to be part of the hoopla the first time around, but I'm happy to jump on the gravy train while it's still rolling; I'm glad to see the fandom in still alive and well, even after 20 years of (essentially) stagnation and lack of new canon material. Guess it's a testament to the enduring quality of the show.
After I got into M*A*S*H, the transition to M*A*S*H slash was sort of a natural progression; I've always been a slashaholic, and even after watching an episode or two, I realized just how latent the subtext was... it almost seems inappropriate to call it "subtext", since it can jump out at you, if you're willing to let it.
The pairings I'm most interested in right now are Hawkye/BJ (I like BJ a lot more than Trapper, though I know not a lot of people agree... but the episodes that form the foundation of my fandom are all post season 3, so BJ is all I really know, having only seen 2 eps. with Trapper), and (believe it or not), Hawkeye/Charles, though to explain why would be to turn this into even more of a rant than it already is.
And speaking of, I'll cut this short, abruptly. Hope to hear from other mash slashers soon.
