A/N: Okay so I decided to kill two birds with one stone. This fic was originally written for the yahoo mash-slash group prompt of “monster“, however, it fit for the varietypack100 prompt of “dark“ too. So I‘m using it for both. It might be considered cheating … but, I did it anyway. It took me just over 10 minutes.

This is great, but I think the reason that no one's commented yes is that... wasn't something very similar to this posted here before? Or on ffn? About Hawkeye's fear of monsters, and then... Wanting to reach out to BJ but knowing that if he does the monsters will get him? I'll feel stupid if you wrote that one too, but... =/

People have commented. I have my fics set up so that most people leave comments on them in my writer's LJ instead of here.

Well ... if there was, I've never read/seen it. Or at least I have no recollection of reading it. I've read just about every fic that involves Hawkeye (and especially every fic that involves anything even remotely related to the Hawkeye/BJ pairing since they are my OTP) ... soooooooo if there *is* something out there, I don't know about it or don't recall it.

Um ... there's nothing in this ficlet that indicates Hawkeye wanting to reach out for BJ. He wants his dad, not BJ.

I'm not sure if you're trying to politely accuse me of plagarizing (and accusing anonymously at that) or not ... but you can rest assured that I haven't. Ever. And if there is a fic similar to this out there, please point it out to me because I'd love to read it.

Huh ... never read that one. Which is surprising to me because smithy161 is a friend of mine ... and one of my betas. I must have missed it somehow ... I'll have to email her and apologize for not reading one of her fics.

And while my ficlet is slightly similar, I don't think it's even close to hers. Hers is much better.
