Wow, I've missed a lot, haven't I?

OK, so, I know it's over, and I know I'm sticking my head in, and I know I may be a shit stirrer .... but I gotta say this. And I only gotta say this because it's over and so on and so forth .... although if people are still sore, and therefore cannot construe this as a joke, I totally get it, and a) accept any flames/attacks/rolls-of-eyes/general ignoringness as my due and b) deeply, deeply apologise.

But I think a sign of maturity is the ability to laugh at oneself. And I certainly don't think I'd like to be associated with a place where people can't laugh at themselves. *raises flag of hope. 'Cos I believe in us*

So. Whilst I will keep my own thoughts to myself, I will say ... this whole thing just reminded me of this. Which y'all should have seen anyway. ^^

The really relevant passages (if you don't want to read through the whole thing, cos it is kinda long.) are near the end. But the whole thing is just funny even without any kind of correlation.

And please remember: Joke. Again, I'm sorry if we're still too near the *cough for dramatic effect* "incident" to make them. But hey, the best time to intefere is now!

It's unfortunate that some of the original ones were deleted, because it would have been funny to go back and look at what people had said, accusations that were thrown, etc. And I say this as someone who was accused of flaming! I'd love to reread my comment, but I've deleted the notification e-mail, and the post is gone.

M*A*S*H? Immune? The fic snobs (myself included) have their standards, and we've made them pretty well known. I think it'll calm down for a while, but a lot of us are also in a much snarkier fandom, and it carries over.

*grins* Sorry, I have this mental image of the entire community sitting around this open camp fire with marshmallows and shit and just occaisionally reaching their hands into the fire and pulling out bits of paper and reading them out, and then everyone getting a bit drunk and doing the whole 'remember when...' routine, and laughing a lot. It's a half-image, but it amuses me. ^^ Bummer about that, though.

And it's a pity that. *sighs* (Although I love that you call yourselves fic snobs. ^^ That's awesomely cool.) I guess it does go everywhere. It's just, this is such a nice place. I remember when I posted my first fic .... (Oh, god, now I'm doing it... ^^)

And is that House? People keep mentioning it, and it's kinda whaoh, because the idea of a mass migration startles me. Must be convenient, though. ^^

We are fic snobs, and if certain people tell you otherwise, they're lying. Like I've said before, a lot of us were very spoiled by writers who have moved on, and we want to hold everything to that standard or somewhere near it.

Like I said below, it is House. The reason behind the mass migration is probably that a couple of people fairly central to our group got very interested in the new snarky-doctor show with a wonderful dynamic between the two main male characters, and lured the rest of us into watching it with comments like, "Watch one episode. If you don't like it, I'll make you an icon." I don't think anyone wound up disliking the first episode they saw.

Ah, sorry, I hadn't seen the earlier comment. (Really, this post has just exploded! XD)

And I think we should totally do it (if we can work out a way not to burn our hands .... or should we just invite the snarky doctor?)

Well, massive props to you for admitting it. I have to admit, it makes it a little scary for newbs. And the whole central pillars thing I get, too. (Smart ploy on their part. ^^ Very smart ploy. EVERYone loves snark.) That's also a little intimidating, actually. It's like there are these unwritten rules, and one of the rules is you're not allowed to be told the rules. O.o

But I try to break in and just act like I'm part of it anyway. ^^ It's like bees, I tell myself. Once you're in the hive, they just think you're part of it. ... That's when you realise why people make such big deals about beestings in movies. ^^

Oh, no. Don't invite House. He'll make fun of people who burn their hands instead of treating them. Bring Wilson (the snarky doctor's almost-boyfriend). He'd treat the burns and be fun. Very dry sense of humor.

And I would totally not be standing on the sidelines egging you on. Totally. ... Would you like me to scribe for you?

Actually, I think you could make it work. Especially if it's couched in funny. Especially at the stage where everyone's heaved that sigh of 'ohthankgodit'sover' relief, but it's still relevant and everyone knows why it's being done.

But totally no pressure. :P

And both of them please? I want to meet/remember this Wilson and when he's drunk explain to him exactly why they are a couple, safe in the knowledge that a)I have no idea what I'm talking about, b)he has no idea what I'm talking about and c)that neither of us will remember it in the morning. ^^ And just seeing you guys and House ... would be so. damn. worth it.

He DID. House is letting Wilson sleep on his "couch". Which we know means his bed, but whatever. I think it made him feel better to pretend he's straight still. After all, he had just found out his third wife was having an affair.

You use words like "jest", which actually means you rock, because so many people forget about the cool words! And you're not the only one who can get a bit extremist; I can at times, too.

It could be funny. I'd have to consult people for their input, and I'm pretty sure they'd tell me if they thought it a bad idea.
