Just a short post-ep for 'Out of Sight, Out of Mind'
He tells BJ about the rain, the sound it makes when it hits the ground. He tells him how he catalogued the sounds, saved them in his memory, much clearer than the memories he had before.
He doesn’t tell BJ about the other things he remembers. He doesn’t tell BJ about how he knows the feel of BJ’s hands, can tell them from the others. He doesn’t tell him about the uneven bump on BJ’s index finger on his right hand. He doesn’t tell him that his left is much softer than his right.
He tells BJ about the darkness, the feeling of loss, hurt, and he tells BJ about the feeling of wonder at rediscovering the world through sound.
He doesn’t tell BJ about counting BJ’s breaths. He doesn’t tell him about listening to BJ sleep, knowing the exact rhythm of his breaths. Knowing the exact sounds of his gasps, his sighs.
It amazes Hawkeye that he never paid attention to it before, the realness of BJ, of the sounds he makes, of the feel of his hands.
Now he can’t stop paying attention, he can’t stop thinking, and so he tries to focus on other things.
He tells BJ about the sound of the rain, but he doesn’t tell him that the rain sounds like BJ breathing.
Also, question:
Is there any M*A*S*H timeline available? I mean, obviously it'd have to be very loose, but an approximate one would be nice.

I believe there was some talk about a timeline in this community a few weeks ago... Let me check... Aaah, yes. In this post (http://www.livejournal.com/community/mash_slash/63941.html)

And thank you, that *was* helpful (Man, Trapper was there a lot longer than I figured. Hee!)
