I don't like to make useless posts but I just have a few questions that have bugging me lately. Do any of you fine people know which episode we first hear them call Frank "ferret-face"? I almost remember, they're all trying to sleep, and he's like, "You know what my brother used to call me . . . ferret face" I just can't find that episode! Also, which is the one where the nurses steal Hawk and Beej's robes when they're taking a shower and they have to sneak back to the Swamp naked then they get popcorn thrown at them? And which is the one where Beej is crying, and Hawk hugs him (I know vague) but it's about not seeing his daughter or something, a later episode.
I'm sorry if this post is lame,so, just to give it some quality, I wanna wish everyone a happy holiday season! If any of you live in warm climates I'm jealous of you and if anyone lives in the arctic like me I hope you don't get a blizzard or frostbite or both, lol. And thanks ahead of time to anyone that knows which episodes these are, thank you thank you.

Okay ... well, I can answer 2 out of your 3 questions:

1) Don't know ... I'm sure it's in S1, which I haven't watched too closely because I'm not a big fan of the "Trapper years". I like Trapper, but I don't like those seasons.

2) The nekkid, popcorn throwing episode is "An Eye For A Tooth". It's when BJ, Hawkeye, Charles and Margaret are all engaged in a practical joke-off.

3) The sobbing BJ/comforting Hawkeye episode is "Period of Adjustment". BJ gets drunk, smashes the still, punches Hawkeye then breaks down in Potter's office.

The ferret face talk was in 'Dear Dad ... Again' which was indeed in Season 1 =)

that's the one! *kicks self* I just love that part, it's hilarious. *sigh* you all know MASH so much better than I do, but i'm still learning. thanks again.

I think the best use of the term Ferret faces though was still in the episode of season 4 when they come to camp bombed and get out of the jeep and Bj salutes.. almost falls down and says hows it going ferret face.. CLASSIC!
(Larry Linville told the writers about that name.. it was a real name he got called as a kid and he let them use it!)

i love that part in season 4! I fell down myself laughing, but I do that a lot with MASH,lol. really? he really got called that? poor Frank . . . i always felt bad for Frank. Like that time Hawk's having nightmares and Frank tells him how his father took away his nightlight . . . it's so sad. I dunno, poor ferret face was must misunderstood . . . i'm probably one of only a few frank sympathizers though . . . another good ferret face moment is (i guess this isn't specifically a ferret face moment) but i need only say two words: air raid.
